Meet the Family
“My hope with House of D is simple: that D’s well-made, pre-loved, classic clothes might find their way into new hands, and into new stories.”
Lucinda, Head of Garment Rehoming, House of D
D - Curator
At the centre of it all is D himself — a quietly discerning collector of classic menswear, whose wardrobe has been assembled over many years with an instinct for quality, craftsmanship, and timeless style.
D prefers not to be seen, nor to say very much. When he does occasionally pipe up you’ll find his Dispatches on our Substack pages.
On D’s behalf, what can be said, with certainty, is that each piece in his wardrobe has been chosen with care, worn sparingly, and looked after properly — the habits of a man who values things made well, and made to last.
Lucinda - Head of Garment Rehoming
Lucinda is D’s wife, and the quietly capable force behind House of D — she’s the one responsible for restoring a degree of order to an otherwise overenthusiastic wardrobe.
After one too many years navigating teetering stacks of tailoring and sidestepping an ever-expanding collection of shoes, Lucinda finally took matters in hand — with D’s blessing — and began re-homing a carefully considered selection of his pre-loved garments.
Each piece is carefully selected for rehoming not only for its quality, but for its character — and for the possibility that it might yet accompany someone else on their next adventure.
Lucinda started House of D as a practical response to a domestic imbalance, but it also serves as a creative outlet — and a gentle attempt to rediscover what she most enjoys, after time away from a former life in corporate storytelling and the shifting rhythms of work, family, and a changing world.
The Professor - Storyteller
Along the way, Lucinda has enlisted the quiet assistance of an un-named London-based academic — known simply as The Professor — whose talent for creative writing has, until now, been largely concealed beneath more scholarly pursuits.
Together, they have begun to imagine the characters and stories that inhabit the House of D.
And so, for the sagaciously stylish —
